Content Marketing Manager
Turn electricity data and product insights into written content that reaches the people building the energy transition.
About Electricity Maps⚡️🗺️
Electricity Maps is the world's most comprehensive electricity data platform. We provide global access to electricity mix, prices, and carbon intensity - available in real time, historically, and forecasted.
Our products make it possible to understand and act on electricity - when it's cleanest, when it's cheapest, and how to use it smarter:
→ Interactive Map, used by millions of people worldwide to explore the real-time carbon footprint of electricity.
→ API & Datasets – powering products and decisions at leading companies like Google, Cisco, Schneider Electric, and more.
Job Summary
We're looking for a Content Marketing Manager to build and own Electricity Maps' content engine - someone who can turn our wealth of electricity data, API use cases, and technical insights into .stories that reach the people turning electricity data into smarter decisions. You'll work closely with Dragos, our Marketing Lead, in a small, two-person team with high ownership, room to experiment, and a role that evolves with the business rather than following a fixed day-to-day.
What You’ll Do
Own our content distribution strategy and calendar. From ad-hoc requests from colleagues, to proactive data analyses that align with our positioning, you'll have the freedom to build and shape Electricity Maps' content engine.
Turn what we build into stories that resonate. Take our datasets, use cases, and product updates and turn them into content that lands with a technical and commercial audience - engineers, traders, product, sales etc.
Own and distribute content across channels. Share and repurpose content across web, LinkedIn, and email to maximize reach and impact.
Manage email content across marketing and product. Work closely with the commercial team to run and improve our email programs and nurture flows.
Create data-driven content from our unique insights. Collaborate with our data experts to transform electricity data into compelling posts, blog articles, and other relevant formats. Here are a couple of examples:
LinkedIn post using our data to explain trends in forecasting the energy transition
A new initiative where we daily publish 2025 electricity data reviews by country.
Some of this is working well. Some of it has a lot of untapped potential and maybe we even miss the mark on some of it. We know this can go much farther.
What You Won’t Do
❌ Treat content as a secondary function. At Electricity Maps, content isn't a channel - it's the discipline. We're building a content engine that drives how the world understands the energy transition. You think of yourself as a content person first, and you're excited by the idea of owning that fully.
❌ Be a generic sustainability copywriter. This role is rooted in energy systems, electricity data, and real use cases, not vague sustainability thought leadership.
❌ Work in isolation. Even if we are a small team, you won’t sit alone trying to guess what’s interesting. You’ll collaborate closely with product, data, and commercial teammates to shape content together. (We even have quite a few colleagues who love to share and interact online).
Requirements
You been a content person at heart for at least 3 years. Writing, storytelling, and building content strategy has been a core part of your career, not just something you've done on the side of broader marketing work.
Proven experience in content strategy and planning - building and owning a content calendar and, not just executing on one.
Strong technical writing skills across formats - short-form social, long-form articles, web copy, email.
Experience working in a B2B / SaaS environment, ideally in-house.
An understanding of how content connects to demand gen and pipeline - you don't need to have owned it, but you get how it fits together.
Comfortable managing website content in a CMS.
At least a basic SEO understanding - search intent, content structure, keyword research.
Someone who is curious, seeks information and eager to learn more.
